One of the Midwest’s most popular and highly regarded outdoor celebrations of the arts is returning to downtown Rockford! Beattie Is… Back is a free, family friendly festival that will feature a high-quality artist market, art demonstrations, live music and entertainment, specialty food vendors and exciting “hands-on” experiential art activities. In the “Make-and-Take” creative zone patrons will have a unique opportunity to experience being real artists and create something to take home. Scheduled at the end of summer, when upwards of 5,000 visitors are drawn weekly to downtown Rockford for City Market, the Arts Council will be well poised with a captive audience to market the event throughout the entire summer. Based on growing popularity of City Market and situating Beattie Is… Back at City Market Pavilion, we expect 3,000 plus patrons to attend the festival. Our committee, and all the people working behind the scenes are confident Beattie Is… will expand year after year, and once again become the beloved family-friendly arts festival that so potently captured the hearts, the minds, and the imaginations of so many people throughout the years.
